When I started making leggings and flared pants for Katinka, I quickly realised one thing: leggings are not “just leggings.” They are pieces that we often wear for hours – when exercising, walking, traveling, at home and outside. And that is why they matter much more than they seem at first glance.
Many women write to me that they used to buy cheaper leggings “just for exercising.” Until they experienced the difference between a piece that is sewn quickly and cheaply and a piece that is well thought out from the material to the last seam.
Why did I choose these materials
From the beginning, I had a clear priority when designing: comfort, functionality and durability. That is why you will not find 100% cotton here, but high-quality technical blends – most often nylon and elastane or polyester and spandex.
Why?
Nylon and polyester are extremely durable, soft to the touch and hold their shape, elastane and spandex provide elasticity, thanks to which the leggings adapt to the body, not the other way around, the material is not transparent, does not press and does not "fall" even after hours of wearing, the leggings do not stretch after a few washes. The result is a feeling that you can move freely in them, your skin breathes and you feel confident - whether you are doing yoga, pilates or just having coffee in the city.

Leggings vs. flared pants - why I love both
Classic leggings are a staple for me. They are support, a second skin and confidence.
However, flared bottoms bring something extra - elegance and femininity, which you can safely wear outside the studio.
I design them so that they beautifully lengthen the silhouette, do not press at the waist, are just as comfortable as leggings, and can be combined with a sports bra and an oversized sweater.
It's exactly the kind of piece that you can put on in the morning and not have to think about whether you'll feel good in it. Check out our flared-bottoms here.
Why are quality leggings more expensive (and why are they worth it)
I often get asked why our leggings (and other goods) cost more than "regular" ones in chains. The answer is simple: because they are not mass-produced, made of cheap materials and without quality control. Behind each piece is the selection of premium material, smaller production runs, emphasis on cut and functionality, and testing in real movement.
I prefer to have fewer pieces made, but ones that you will wear for years - not one season.

Frequently asked questions
What material is best for workout leggings?
Nylon and elastane blends are ideal - they are stretchy, durable, not see-through and hold their shape.
Are leggings suitable for all-day wear?
Yes. That's why I design them so that they are comfortable not only during exercise, but also during the day.
What is the difference between cheap leggings and high-quality ones?
Especially in terms of durability, comfort, workmanship and how they behave after washing and long-term wear.
How to care for leggings so that they last as long as possible?
Wash inside out, on a delicate program and without fabric softener. Less is more in this case. Maximum 30 °C
In conclusion
Katinka was created out of the desire to create clothing that will make women's movements easier, not restrict them. Pieces in which they will feel natural, confident and themselves.
If you are looking for leggings or flare-bottoms and other clothing that will not disappoint you after the first wash or after the tenth workout, I believe that you will find what you need here.
